We have been very busy since we closed for the season Oct. 15, 2022.Grant Miller, Deloris Cameron, Leigh Allison, Gary and I have been replacing labels, cleaning and organizing showcases in the Main Log Building and the Heritage Center. This led me to do some researching, which I find enjoyable. The rodeo coach and 2 team members from MCC came and took down the glass of a wall display and moved another show case so we could relabel and clean. They will be back in the spring to put it back up.
Jeremy Fix of the Fireman’s Company replaced and reset our Fire Alarm System. Kruger Glass replaced some glass that was scratched and broken, in the Main Log Building, Clark’s Guns and Charley’s Place.
We have had the snow removed 3 times by the Pro’s and Gary rented a skid steer and removed it once when we had a function and the others couldn’t come in time.
All of the vents on the house froze over and all the businesses were busy so Wiley Snell, Dirk Schmidt and Gary worked on it that night. Then the next day they borrowed a long ladder from Gladder Electric and was able to get on the roof and knock them off, some with the help of a tool they made to reach them.
Since last meeting we had 6 more functions for a total of 52 for the year. Since January, 2023 we have had 1 function with 35 dates for the year. We had visitors from all 50 states and 28 foreign countries making a total of about 7,250.
Alan Charles, Deloris Cameron and I met on Dec.8, to mail out 262 membership letters to people who hadn’t renewed in the last two years. We have received many answers with many sending extra donations.
It has taken many e-mails and phone calls until we finally received the picture flip books from Gaylord. Now the fun begins as we finish sorting and mounting all the loose pictures people have donated.
