Dear friends,
As a membership enrollment incentive, we will draw one name from the list of people who have either re-enrolled or purchased a new membership before April 15, 2025. That person will receive a LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP!
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED THE MUSEUM THROUGH MEMBERSHIPS, DONATIONS, ENTRY FEES, GIFT SHOP PURCHASES, AND FUNDRAISERS.
Some of the 2024 Museum activities included:
- Hosting the Bucking Horse Sale Breakfast, which was well attended, and also included a book signing by Kimberly Kaye Bachman and Dawn Newland, two authors who recently published western novels.
- Providing tours for groups from 13 grade schools, Miles Community College, Miles City Mental Health, Glendive Mental Health, and one Expedition Tour.
- Having many donated artifacts reviewed and approved by the Curations Committee. Other donations included a new sound system for the Pioneer Hall, flowers planted in pots in front of the museum donated by Walmart, and graphic art donated by Katie Rae Allison to help generate revenue.
- Receiving grants and donations, including grant from North Plains Connection Community Investment Program to help replace the carpet and roof on the main log building, grant from Nibs Allen Foundation help complete that roof replacement, and donations from Steadman Ace Hardware and Bob Engdahl to assist with other repairs.
- Holding Annual Meeting/Memorial Plaque Dedication Ceremony in June, with 13 pioneer families being honored with plaque presentations made while attendees enjoyed a sumptuous roast beef dinner.
- Hosting the Open House/Pioneer Day on the 2nd Saturday in September, featuring the popular outdoor chuckwagon feed, an outdoor artifacts display and inter-active atlatl demonstration, and an outdoor old cavalry camp station. The event was well-attended, with many people also touring the museum facilities free of charge.
- Completing Review of All Plaques in Pioneer Hall and Charley’s Place for placement of stories. Delores Cameron worked to reconstruct a book of family histories for families whose last name began with letters “C, D, E, F, G,” to replace that book which disappeared from the museum several years ago.
